On behalf of Wellington Figure Skating Club and our skaters, I am writing to thank
you for your generous donation to fund ice time for our members and figure skating
students for Term 1 this year.

Because of your support we have been able to provide dedicated ice time for our figure
skaters to safely practice figure skating elements. We have already seen a huge
improvement in our skaters’ abilities, but we are also seeing new friendships develop
during our figure skating sessions.

In February we were fortunate to have a Level 1 NZIFSA Coach come to Wellington to
conduct a skate camp with several group classes and one-on-one coaching sessions. We
were able to fully fund the rink hire for the group lessons to reduce the costs for our
skaters, some of whom may not have been able to participate in the classes otherwise.
We have received many thanks from parents and skaters for making it more accessible
and we want to pass on those thanks to you. We couldn’t have done it without your
generosity.

We have a few skaters who are now ready to represent Wellington in competitions who
have benefited from being able to practice their routines safely on freshly groomed ice,
free from the general public.

Thank you for helping us to give our skaters opportunities to improve their skating, develop
supportive networks and have fun along the way.
